 24th Annual Blossom Day Festival & Run in Central California in 2012

The following list includes community events in Central California related to the world-famous Blossom Trail. Please remember to call prior to attending any events listed on this page. The listing is subject to change without notice. 

Saturday, March 3rd -- 24th Annual Blossom Days Festival
Location: Downtown Sanger at 7th and “N” Streets
Time: 9am to 4pm
 in Sanger, CA
The 24th Annual Blossom Days Festival will be held SATURDAY March 5, 2011, in DOWNTOWN, Sanger at 7th and “N” Streets.
This event is in conjunction with the Fresno County Blossom Trail, which is open from February to April. Arts and crafts booths, Blossom Trail 10K Run, food booths, car show, entertainment, and kids activities, are part of the celebration in Sanger.
All along the 62-mile self-guided Blossom Trail you will see the groves, orchards, vineyards, and wildflowers of California's heartland, featuring the natural beauty of Fresno County's agriculture and highlights a few of our historical points of interest.

From 9am-4pm, there will be arts and crafts booths, food booths, displays, points race, car show, entertainment, and the Depot Museum will be open for tours. There will be plenty of fun activities for kids too with various inflatables, games, and more!

Saturday, March 3rd -- The 6th Annual Sanger Chamber of Commerce Car Show
 
The 6th Annual Sanger Chamber of Commerce Blossom Day Car show is on Saturday, March 5, 2011 in Downtown Sanger. Staging is at 8:30am off ACADEMY Avenue AND 8TH” Streets and the Car Show is from 10am-3pm. Registration is $25.00 and includes: Car Entry, Dash Plaque, and commemorative prizes for first 100 pre-registered entries. Trophies will be awarded to the Best of Show, Best Muscle Car, Best Street Rod, Best Truck, Best Interior, Best Engine, Best Stock Original, Best Custom, Best Convertible, Best Paint, Best Low Rider, Best Rat Rod, Best Flames, Best Special Interest, Best Mustang, Best PT Cruiser, Best Mo-Par, Best GM, Best Ford, Best Foreign, and the Art Park Memorial Award. Awards will be announced at 2:30pm.
 The location of the Car Show is Downtown Sanger, on “O” Street between 7th Street and “8th” Streets with overflow on the old Hedrick’s lot. We will not have a “motorcycle category” this year as we will have a special night for motorcycles at the Farmers’ Market. This Car Show is in conjunction with the Blossom Day Festival which includes Blossom Trail 10K Run, Arts & Crafts, Food Booths, Exhibits, Kid’s Activities, Entertainment, and more from 9am-4pm, in Downtown Sanger! The Sanger Chamber of Commerce Blossom Day Car Show is a non-profit car show and the proceeds will go towards sponsoring our community events.

 The location of the Car Show is Downtown Sanger, on “O” Street between 7th Street and “8th” Streets with overflow on the Hedrick’s lot.

Saturday, March 3rd -- 14th Annual Blossom Trail 10K Run
City of Sanger Blossom Trail 10K Run: The 10K Run will be on Saturday, March 3rd. The Sanger Parks & Recreation Department is in charge of the run. The Race Director is Mr. Ken Takeuchi from Pro Race Group. Pre registration deadline is Feb. 21st at 9pm for online registration. Pre-Race packet pick up is February 25th from noon to 4PM at Sole 2 Soul Visalia, February 26th from noon to 4PM at Sole 2 Soul in Fresno, March 1st, 1-6pm at City Annex in Sanger and March 2nd 7am-1pm at City Annex in Sanger. Race Day Registration begins at 6:45AM at the Bank of America parking lot at 7th and “O” Streets.  For race information please call the Sanger Parks & Recreation Department, 876-6300 ext. 4.

The Race will feature the opening kick off “Valley Runner of the Year Series” with a 30-Point 10K Race. This year NEW CHIP TIMING will be provided by Sole 2 Soul Sports. There will be a 10K Walk at 7:30am (non competitive),  10K Run at 8:15am, 2 mile Run/Walk at 8:20am, Kids (10-12yrs.) ½ mile run at 7:40am, a ¼ mile boys (8-9yrs.) run at 7:50am, a ¼ mile girls (8-9yrs) at 7:55am, Kids (6-7) run at 8am, and a Kids 1/8 mile (5 yrs and under) at 8:05am. The Kids runs are FREE to Sanger Unified School District students through February 17th,  and $5 through March 2nd, and $10 race day. Adults are $17 before February 21st, and $20 until March 2nd. Day of Race will be $25. All participants will receive a blossom trail T-shirt. There are great prizes for the run drawing held after the run! Run Applications are available at the Sanger Parks & Recreation Department, 1789 Jensen Avenue, Suite A or call 876-6300 ext. 4, and at the Sanger Chamber office, 1789 Jensen Avenue, Suite B, or call 874-4575. You don't want to miss this run! Pre-registration deadline is February 17th.
