At Old
Town Clovis Farmers' Market and other farmers
markets in the surrounding area, you can easily find
the finest and freshest produce, locally grown and
sold to you in person by the growers or members of
their family. Just about any of the 350 or so
different varieties of crops grown in the Central
Valley can be found at these farmers' markets. They
range from old familiar favorites to unusual exotic
items.
Just
strolling through the Old Town Clovis Farmers'
Market on a Friday evening is a fascinating and fun
adventure. In addition to the produce items on sale,
there is always live music and often other types of
entertainment as well.
You
will find an amazing array of products such as Amaranth, Thai
basil, Italian basil, cinnamon basil, yellow
peaches, white peaches, pluots, doughnut peaches, nectarines, plums, figs,
strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, black
berries, cherries, green beans, Chinese mustard
green, arugula, cilantro, corn, gai lan, chayote,
Chinese eggplants,
okra, daikon, yellow squashes, baby beets, cucumbers,
apaz onion, white
onions, yellow onions, red onions, lemon, lime,
lettuce, fresh garlic, choy sum, chili peppers, baby bokchoy,
dill, thyme, snow peas, bitter
melons, Chinese broccoli, dasheen, Chinese celery,
Japanese eggplants, jicama, lo bok, green onion,
lemongrass, yellow
baby carrots, red baby carrots, Chinese okra, choy
sum, Chinese long bean, Chinese squash, heirloom
tomatoes, Chinese chives, mint, rosemary, Roma tomatoes,
tarragon, yellow Roma tomatoes, pomegranates, Thompson
seedless grapes, Red Flame seedless grapes,

In
addition to produce, there are other farm products
or goodies made from farm products, such as jams,
honey, pickles, cheeses, fresh eggs, dried fruits,
and baked goods. You can also get your dinner there
at various food booths.
