What make Clovis such a special city?

The population of Clovis had reached
a bit over 95,000 people in 2009, according to the city's official website as of January 2010. Because it is well-known for its school excellence and students' high academic achievements, because of its reputation as a charming, clean, and safe place to live, and because the appeal of the unique Clovis Way of Life, the City of Clovis has experienced a tremendous increase in population and economic growth in the last twenty years.

Just outside of the charming western-themed Old Town Clovis central business district, there is an array of modern amenities that come with a growing and vibrant urban area.

For all banking needs, you can easily find many branch offices of well-known national financial institutions in the City of Clovis, such as Wells Fargo Bank, Citibank, Union Bank, and Bank of America. There are also regional and community banks.

For your shopping and dinning pleasure, you can shop till you drop at many regional and national chain retail stores as well as independent boutique shops, then treat your taste buds with delectable meals at nationally- known restaurants, including a large number and variety of delightful ethnic cuisines.

Out-of-town visitors will find our at-home hospitality well represented by many award-winning lodging accommodations. You will find many facilities with uniquely contemporary style, ambience and amenities, and with modern and comfortable suites. All of our newest hotels, such as Hilton Garden Inn, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Holiday Express Inn & Suites, Comfort Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn, are surrounded by wineries, shopping centers, restaurants, convention centers, and concert halls. These hotels all have easy to access freeways and are in close proximity to Fresno Yosemite International Airport. They also are conveniently close to the Sierras and Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks

For many years, the City of Clovis has been enthusiastically embracing and encouraging entrepreneurship and new business start-ups. The Clovis Economic Development Strategy also plays an important role in making Clovis a magnet city for entrepreneurs to do business and for outside businesses to expand or relocate.

Over the years, a large number of businesses of many types have become widely successful in Clovis and have contributed tremendously to the city's economic growth. The community has a large pool of creative, talented and highly skilled workers with a strong work ethic. The work force is diverse and can meet the needs of many different industries and commercial ventures. The City of Clovis is well-known as an attractive city for small business start-ups as well as for the expansion of growing businesses.

And what of the city's future? Here are some items currently under planning development in the City of Clovis:

The Nature Education and Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, the Culture Heritage Art Plaza, and the Clovis Research and Technology Park are some significant projects that have been on the agenda of the City for some time and were approved in 2009. There is no doubt that these projects will be an economic boon to the city and will provide more educational opportunities, employment opportunities, and needed services to the local residents and businesses. The completion of these projects will be a great enhancement to the City of Clovis and will also add to the beauty of the community.

We welcome you to a genuinely American city and invite you to explore and experience the unique Clovis Way of Life.
