Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.
~John Muir (1838-1914), American naturalist

For many outdoors enthusiasts and nature lovers, Clovis is an excellent hub to explore and experience the beauty and spectacular view of the many world-famous and magnificent natural wonders in the Central Sierras.

While Clovis and the Central Valley have been recognized as the nation's number one agricultural region, Clovis also has so much to offer as the Gateway to the Sierras, due to its convenient proximity to so many popular destinations in the Sierras and its abundant amenities and comfortable accommodations. Making Clovis your base camp will help make your Central Sierra adventures more enjoyable and memorable.

Story continued below.

Whether you are interested in hiking, camping, backpacking, fishing, boating, skiing, rock climbing, horse back riding, outdoor adventure classes, sightseeing the deep canyons and high peaks of the Sierra Nevadas, bird watching, wildlife photography, visiting natural museums, guided nature walks and talks, or mountaineering, the Central Sierras offer you endless opportunities to be close to Mother Nature.

Many of the world's most spectacular scenic vistas are found in Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks and should be a must on your itinerary. Don't forget to stop and enjoy the beautiful wildflowers in Tuolumne Meadows and the Highcountry. Mother Nature's vast beauty and breath-taking landscapes await you and your family at Yosemite Valley, Bridalveil Fall, Yosemite Falls, the scenic Tioga Road with many sparkling lakes, Tioga Pass, Giant Sequoia Groves, Glacier Point, Half Dome, Vernal Falls, Crystal Cave, Pacific Crest Trail, General Sherman Tree Trail, Cedar Grove Overlook, Grant Grove Village, John Muir Trail, Mount Whitney, Roaring River, Crescent Meadow, Upper Dusy Basin, Ash Mountain, and many more points of interest.

While you're in Yosemite, you may also wish to visit Pioneer Yosemite History Center in Wawona Village.

No matter how many times you go, every trip to the Central Sierras will be a unique experience, varying with the locations you visit, the time of year and even the time of day, as well as the length of your visit and the activities you select.

After visiting the Sierras, please come back to ExperienceClovis.com and share your experiences and your photos here with other readers.
