Arabic for Beginners – Ages 12+
Learn the language from a native speaker. Whether you are planning a trip to Morocco, Lebanon, Egypt, or any of the 25 exotic countries where Arabic is spoken, you will want to bring along your language skills and “Arabic in 10 Minutes a Day” is just the ticket! With a focus on practical words and phrases which every traveler needs, the book provides and easy, step-by-step approach with useful study skills. Textbook is included in class fee.

Chinese Language and Culture
Join us as we explore the language, rich culture, and history of China in this exciting class.  While learning basic conversational and written Chinese, you will be introduced to Chinese traditions, foods, characters and the fairy tales behind them. Whether you are planning to travel to China or just want to know about this ancient country, this is the class for you!

French for Beginners
For beginners, travelers, or for leisure, this course is designed for you. Learn basic conversational skills in a few weeks. You will be introduced to the basics of the French language. Focus is on vocabulary and phrases with a concentration on the oral language. Textbook is included in the course fee.

Russian for Beginners
Did you ever think that Russian was too difficult to learn? Come join us this term and we’ll take the mystery out of it! We’ll learn grammar, vocabulary, and conversational phrases that will get you on your way to reading a newspaper, traveling to Russia, or talking with your spouse. Frank Sullivan combines his 30 years experience as both a translator and a government analyst to give you the language skills you’ll need to master the Russian language. Textbook is included in the class fee.

Sign Language I
This class will cover vocabulary and grammar and will include cultural, educational, and linguistic perspectives of sign systems used in the United States. Students will be able to sign simple conversations with members of the deaf community.

Spanish – Court Interpreting
This class is ideal for adult individuals who perhaps haven’t thought about exploiting their marketable bilingual skills. It will prepare individuals for positions in translation (written) and interpretation (spoken) fields. This introductory course is designed for students who want to develop their English/Spanish skills in the field of legal/court interpretation. Class will include exercises to enhance memory and mental agility with an emphasis on the criminal justice system and vocabulary development. This course is a comprehensive introduction to the language skills required to pass the state and federal court interpreter examinations. Textbook included in cost.

Spanish for Health Care Professionals
Are you a medical office worker, nurse or doctor that would like to speak Spanish to your patients? This class was created just for you! You’ll learn to become familiar with basic Spanish vocabulary as it relates to the medical environment. Spanish Intensive Training I
Bilingual status is a tremendous advantage in today’s multicultural society and can increase your marketability in California. Learn to read, write, speak and understand basic Spanish in just weeks. With practice and exposure, two hours a day, two days a week, you will truly be able to maximize your learning. The textbook is included in the class tuition.

Spanish – Advanced Conversational Level II
If your goal is to communicate in Spanish better, or to become fluent, this is the class for you! We will work on writing and speaking Spanish; giving you greater confidence in your ability to communicate more effectively. You will also learn correct verb usage and tenses. Being able to speak Spanish fluently will help you to improve customer service, build successful business relationships, and add to your travel enjoyment. This class is a great starting place for you to begin mastering Spanish. Same textbok as used in level I.
